One of the most striking aspects of the Kavanaugh testimony on Thursday was the absolute anger of Senator Lindsey Graham. His angry contextualization of the hearings as "shams", rabid declaration that Kavanaugh is as much of a victim as Dr. Blasey Ford, and implications that Kavanaugh deserves the Supreme Court seat paint a worrying picture of a heavily polarized Senate and the political culture that has led us to this current moment.
