About this Blog

During the semester, I shall post course material and students will comment on it. Students are also free to comment on any aspect of American politics, either current or historical. There are only two major limitations: no coarse language, and no derogatory comments about people at the Claremont Colleges. This blog is on the open Internet, so post nothing that you would not want a potential employer to see. Syllabus: http://gov20h.blogspot.com/2023/08/draft-introduction-to-american-politics.html

Free Food For Thought: "Is There a Line?" Free Speech Roundtable

On Friday, November 3, the Free Food For Thought podcast will host a lunch and roundtable discussion to talk about both the value of free speech and the complexities and issues free speech poses on college campuses. The event will be at McKenna Auditorium at 11AM and include student moderators of small groups, including 5C students and professors, to contribute to and gain from the national conversation and to develop a preliminary set of principles for freedom of expression that can be explored, debated, and understood more deeply.

All are invited; free food and free speech will both be there, so you should be there too!

Facebook event link, and/or RSVP to events@cmc.edu by Wednesday.
