I found it interesting when Mara Liasson mentioned, "He's a man without a party,” when referring to Trump in an NPR podcast released on Thursday. Trump acted in opposition of Republican congressional leaders this week when he signed on the debt ceiling. In the past, Trump has been unpredictable, so his decision comes as no surprise. I wanted to hear your perspectives to help answer some questions I have. 1) How do you think Trump's actions this week will shape future negotiations across parties? 2) Does Trump need the support of the GOP?
Thanks!

About this Blog
During the semester, I shall post course material and students will comment on it. Students are also free to comment on any aspect of American politics, either current or historical. There are only two major limitations: no coarse language, and no derogatory comments about people at the Claremont Colleges. This blog is on the open Internet, so post nothing that you would not want a potential employer to see. Syllabus: http://gov20h.blogspot.com/2023/08/draft-introduction-to-american-politics.html
