About this Blog

During the semester, I shall post course material and students will comment on it. Students are also free to comment on any aspect of American politics, either current or historical. There are only two major limitations: no coarse language, and no derogatory comments about people at the Claremont Colleges. This blog is on the open Internet, so post nothing that you would not want a potential employer to see. Syllabus: http://gov20h.blogspot.com/2023/08/draft-introduction-to-american-politics.html

Fox News and the 2012 race

I would be interested in what people think about this?. Pretty much its saying that Roger Ailes is making Fox News tack to the center.

"If 2010 was the year that Fox fueled the Tea Party — culminating in record ratings and the Republican sweep of the House midterms — 2012 is shaping up to be the year that Ailes decided Fox will benefit if the political world recognizes that his network is willing to make GOP candidates sweat in front of their base...The GOP primary candidates may think Fox News studios are friendly territory. But while it will continue to function as home turf, especially in the prime time hours, they shouldn't be surprised to see more curveballs. The front-runner Ailes cares most about is Fox."

Do you feel that this is accurate? If it is how will it affect the primary/general election or FOXNEWS?

Also an interesting idea on Sarah Palin's endorsement . It would make her relevent though it could lose her much of her loyal base.
